Delivery & Assembly
How we get furniture to you, what it costs, how long it takes, and what happens on the day.
01 What delivery costs
Delivery is free on orders over £750 to mainland England, Wales and southern Scotland. Below that, the charge depends on the size of the largest item in your order and is shown in full at checkout before you pay.
| Service | Typical items | Charge |
|---|---|---|
| Standard parcel | Cushions, throws, table lamps, small mirrors | £4.95, free over £50 |
| Large parcel | Side tables, bedside tables, floor lamps, rugs | £9.95 |
| Two-person delivery | Sofas, beds, dining tables, wardrobes, sideboards | £59.00 |
| Oversized | Corner groups, large wardrobes, marble tables | £99.00 |
Where an order contains several items, you pay once — for the largest service the order needs, not for each piece.
Outlying areas carry a surcharge, calculated at checkout once you enter your postcode:
| Area | Parcels | Furniture |
|---|---|---|
| Scottish Highlands & Islands (AB, IV, KW, PA, PH, HS, ZE, KA27–28) | +£10 | +£40 |
| Northern Ireland (BT) | +£10 | +£40 |
| Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, Channel Islands | +£15 | By quotation |
Some oversized items cannot be sent to these areas at all; the product page will say so before you order.
02 How long it takes
Typical lead times are 3–6 weeks for made-to-order pieces, 5–7 working days for stocked lines. The estimate for each item is shown on its product page and again at checkout, and we confirm a firmer date in your order acknowledgement.
- Stocked items ordered before 2pm on a working day are usually dispatched the same day.
- Made-to-order upholstery is built to your fabric choice and cannot be started until payment clears.
- Mixed orders are held and delivered together unless you ask us to split them. Splitting an order may incur a second delivery charge.
- We will contact you to book a two-person delivery once your order reaches our warehouse, offering a choice of dates and a four-hour window.
We deliver Monday to Saturday. We do not deliver on Sundays or bank holidays.
03 On the day
Our two-person team will call you when they are roughly thirty minutes away. They will:
- carry the item to the room of your choice, upstairs where it is safe to do so;
- assemble it where assembly is included — beds, dining tables, wardrobes and most storage;
- position it, check it over with you, and ask you to sign for it; and
- take away every piece of packaging for recycling.
Measure your doorways, hallway, stairwell and any turns, and compare them with the “smallest opening” figure on the product page. If a piece will not fit, our team cannot force it, and a failed delivery for access reasons is charged at the original delivery rate.
Our team cannot remove doors or windows, use ladders or hoists, or take items through a window. If you need a specialist lift, tell us before you order and we will quote for it separately.
04 Checking your delivery
Please look over your items before the team leaves. If anything is damaged, note it on the delivery paperwork and tell us within 48 hours with photographs. We will arrange a repair, a replacement part or a full replacement at our cost.
For anything else to do with a delivery — a missed slot, a change of address, a rescheduling request — email support@homartuk.com with your order number.
05 Missed and refused deliveries
If nobody is home for a booked slot, our team will wait fifteen minutes, leave a card and return the goods to the depot. We will contact you to rebook; a second attempt is charged at the original delivery rate.
If you refuse delivery of goods that are not faulty and not mis-described, we treat it as a cancellation. The refund is handled under our returns policy and the outbound and return carriage costs are deducted.
We store undelivered goods free of charge for 14 days. After that we may charge reasonable storage costs.
06 Deliveries outside the UK
We currently deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only. If you would like a piece shipped elsewhere, write to us and we will see whether one of our freight partners can quote — any duties, import VAT and customs charges would be yours to pay.
