Accessibility Statement
What we have built into this site so that it works for everyone, where we know it falls short, and how to tell us when it does.
01 Our commitment
Homart Limited is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, regardless of technology or ability. We treat accessibility as part of building the site properly, not as an afterthought, and we take our duties under the Equality Act 2010 seriously.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
02 What we have done
- Every interactive control can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, and the focus outline is always visible.
- Text and interface colours are tested against the WCAG contrast thresholds; body text runs well above the 4.5:1 minimum.
- Headings are used in order, landmarks are marked up, and a “skip to content” link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
- Images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Text can be resized to 200% and the layout reflows to 320px without loss of content or function.
- Animation is suppressed for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
- Form fields have visible, persistent labels, and errors are described in text rather than by colour alone.
03 Where we know we fall short
We are honest about the gaps, and we work through them:
- Some older product descriptions and PDFs added before this statement have not yet been reviewed for structure and alternative text.
- Third-party components — payment forms, embedded maps and any review widget — are outside our direct control. We choose accessible providers where we can and raise defects with them where we cannot.
- Some historic product photography lacks descriptive alternative text; we are working through the catalogue.
04 Tell us about a problem
If you cannot use part of this site, or you need information in a different format — large print, plain text, or read to you over the phone — contact support@homartuk.com or call +44 7868 375682. We aim to reply within two working days and to provide an alternative within ten.
If you are not happy with how we respond, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) on 0808 800 0082 or at equalityadvisoryservice.com.
This statement was prepared on 1 September 2026 and is reviewed annually, and whenever the site changes substantially.
